Award-Winning Design
Mills Branch was honored with the 2004 Award for Best Urban Design, Dream Study Award, by the Greater Dallas Planning Council.

Mills Branch was selected from over 40 nominees to receive the CLIDE Award (Celebrating Leadership in Development Excellence) from the North Central Texas Council of Governments. These and other awards recognize:

• Mills Branch for its innovative form-based code that governs development
  of the area
• Mills Branch opens up a new and much needed market in the Best Southwest communities offering a variety of home types linked together with open space, pedestrian-friendly trails to schools, recreation and retail
• Mills Branch utilized the ten principles of development excellence recommended by the Center of Development Excellence of the North Central Texas Council of Governments for planning and creating future development and redevelopment in the North Texas region.
